Where are you in your becoming?

LIANA is for women who

Not as a gift. As a decision.

LIANA is for women who buy jewelry for themselves. Not to celebrate an occasion. To mark a decision.

Women rebuilding after something ended.

Women outgrowing environments they built.

Women choosing themselves for the first time.

Women who are unfamiliar to themselves right now.

Women in the middle of becoming.

If you are reading this. You already know.

The Archive

The Archive of Becoming.

Essays on fracture, identity, and what remains.

Some women find LIANA through the jewelry.
Others find it here first.

This is where LIANA thinks out loud — about transition, identity,
and what it actually feels like to be in the middle of something
you cannot yet name.

No conclusions. No advice. Just honest writing.
And the reason pieces like these need to exist.

Essay No. 1

The Fracture Is The Design

There is a version of this story where I tell you that breaking was the best thing that ever happened to me. I am not going to tell you that version.

Not because it isn't partly true. But because the way we tell that story erases the part that actually mattered. The part where it just hurt. Where there was no lesson yet. Where I was not becoming anything. I was simply broken.

And I think that part deserves to be said out loud.

We are very good at retrospective meaning. What we are not good at is sitting in the fracture itself — in the moment before the meaning arrives. In the place where something has broken and you do not yet know what it will become.

But what if the fracture is the thing itself?

I learned to make jewelry in India. Not in a school. In a workshop, with my hands, over months of getting it wrong before I got it right. And the thing I learned — the thing I did not expect — is that the most interesting moment in any piece of metal is the moment it breaks.

Breaking reveals the material's true nature. What it is actually made of beneath the surface. A piece of metal that has never been stressed tells you almost nothing. A piece that has fractured and been repaired tells you everything.

Salt and pepper diamonds are not perfect diamonds. They carry inclusions — dark minerals, internal fractures, clouds of carbon formed under pressure over millions of years. The diamond industry calls these flaws.

I see them differently. I see evidence that something real happened inside this stone. That it arrived not flawless — but true.

A flawless diamond is beautiful. A salt and pepper diamond is honest. LIANA is for women who know the difference.

There is a woman I think about when I build these pieces. She is not the woman who has arrived. She is the woman who is in it right now.

She does not need to be told it will be okay. She does not need a reminder of her strength. She needs someone to sit with her in the fracture and say: I see where you are. This moment counts. It is real enough to wear.

Not jewelry for the woman who has arrived.

Jewelry for the woman who is still becoming.

Just the break. Which is already, if you look at it honestly, the most significant thing.

"LIANA was never created from heartbreak. It was created from what remained after."

From the layers. The uneven years. The hoping and the rebuilding and the strange beauty of a life that refused to be what you planned.

I don't create jewelry as decoration. I create symbolic objects for women in the middle of it. Not after. During.

Questions

What you need to know.

How long does delivery take?

In-stock pieces ship within 3–5 business days. Made-to-order pieces — Within & Flow — take 3–5 weeks from the moment your stone is selected. You will receive a photograph of your stone before production begins. No surprises.

What does "Made to Order" mean?

Within & Flow are not mass produced. Each piece is made specifically for you, beginning only after your natural stone has been selected and photographed. Your piece will never be identical to anyone else's. That is not a limitation. That is the point.

How do I choose the right stone for Within or Flow?

You don't choose blindly. After ordering, we photograph several stones and send them to you personally. You select the one that feels right. Each stone is natural, unrepeatable, and carries its own markings. There is no wrong choice — only yours.

What materials does LIANA use?

Every LIANA piece is made from oxidised sterling silver with 18k gold detailing — a deliberate fracture running through the metal. Visible. Unapologetic. Exactly like the moments each piece marks. Stones are natural salt & pepper diamonds, selected by hand.

What is the 30-day return guarantee?

Wear it. Live in it. If after 30 days it doesn't feel like yours — send it back. No questions asked. We believe a piece this personal needs time to settle. 14 days is not enough. 30 days is.

Is LIANA ethically produced?

Yes. Every LIANA piece is handcrafted in a Responsible Jewellery Council certified workshop in Jaipur, India. RJC certification means ethical labour, responsible sourcing, and full traceability. We chose this workshop not because it was convenient — because it was right.

Can I personalise a piece?

Not in the traditional sense. LIANA pieces are already personal — they carry your stone, your moment, your decision. What we offer is not engraving. It is meaning. If you have a specific request, write to us directly. We listen.

Where does the name LIANA come from?

LIANA is named after Lillian — a woman who carried more than she showed, rebuilt more than anyone knew, and never once asked to be rescued. She is the reason this brand exists. Not as a tribute. As a continuation.

How do I care for my LIANA piece?

Oxidised silver develops a patina over time — this is not damage, it is character. To maintain the dark finish, avoid prolonged exposure to water, perfume, and harsh chemicals. Clean gently with a soft cloth. If you want it darker again, we can tell you how. If you let it evolve — it will become more itself. So will you.

What is a salt & pepper diamond — and why does LIANA use them?

A salt & pepper diamond is a natural diamond that carries visible inclusions — dark minerals, internal fractures, clouds of carbon. The traditional diamond industry considers these imperfections. We consider them evidence.

Evidence that something real happened inside this stone. That it grew under pressure, over time, without apology for what it became.

A flawless diamond is beautiful. A salt & pepper diamond is true. LIANA is for women who know the difference — and choose truth.
